Tough decisions were made as Dorset 2018 Venus Awards sponsor Dutton Gregory revealed their finalist for the Small Business of the Year award.
At a splendid afternoon tea hosted at Marsham Court Hotel on 26th September 2018, more than 100 guests from the local business community gathered to celebrate the Dorset 2018 Venus Awards finalists who will be progressing to the next stage of these prestigious business awards.
Although in our 9th year the number of applications continue to grow, making the finalist selection process harder than ever.
“We received more than 1,200 nominations and applications for the 15 award categories, which highlights the huge contribution that women in business are making to businesses in the Dorset Region,” said Venus Awards founder Tara Howard. Launched in May, participants have been whittled down to the Finalists stage through a combination of sponsor panel and public judging.
This year, Dutton Gregory are sponsors of the Small Business of the Year award. Cate Battson, Senior Marketing Executive, announced the finalists:
- Emma Lynch, BBD Boom Ltd
- Danielle Manton-Kelly, The Wedding Crècherz
- Jo Spragg, Kite Clothing
The Venus Awards – dubbed by Channel 4 as “The Working Women’s Oscars” – celebrate the vital contribution that women in business make to the local, regional, and national economy, and are unique in that anyone can nominate a friend, client or family member.
“There are so many inspirational, influential women here, it’s fantastic to see!”
The Dorset 2018 Venus Awards in association with Mercedes-Benz of Poole will culminate in a Glamorous Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony on 23rd November 2018 at The Hilton Hotel, Bournemouth.
