In light of recent events, there has never been a more crucial time for communities to join together and offer help and support to those affected.
As such, we are thrilled to announce our partnership with award-winning digital enterprise aDoddle - a unique national community resource developed for use both UK-wide and at local level.
The concept has been named on the 2016 UK’s Digital Leaders 100 List for potential social impact, and voted in the top 3 by the public in Richard Branson's “Screw Business as Usual” Virgin Unite Global Challenge.
Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole are set to benefit first with the virtual launch of their own BCP Community Map on Thursday 26th March 2020.

What is aDoddle?
Ever looked for a restaurant or hotel on Google Maps? It’s usually a quick and easy search.
However, when it comes to help and support, finding the right service can be a very stressful, complicated process for those in need. It can also be time-consuming and off-putting for local businesses looking to sponsor a charity or organisation that fits with their vision and values.
aDoddle’s aim is to change that.
This UK-wide project is the brainchild of founder Jaki King, who has dedicated her life to three crucial areas; People, Communities & Change.
aDoddle is an interactive community map that will support charities & community projects, and connect local businesses with sponsorship and volunteering opportunities.
This could be finding help at a time of crisis (or in time to avoid a crisis) to give support through volunteering or locating places to connect with others – building stronger, connected and resilient communities.
The map supports:
- People in need to find help and support, plus volunteering opportunities or places to connect
- Charities to highlight their services
- Community projects
- Businesses to discover charity partnerships & volunteering opportunities for staff
- Universities to develop new avenues for research
aDoddle covers the whole of the UK, and is now looking at local maps to better support the local community - Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole are next on the list to be launched.
Why are we supporting aDoddle?
Dutton Gregory believes in not only supporting our local community, but pioneering positive changes to society through innovative concepts such as aDoddle .
Choosing a Charity Partner for your business is an intimate process, built on matching values, staff engagement and level of impact. No matter the decision, there are thousands of charities left in desperate need of support, some of which lacking the funding to market themselves to communities and future sponsors, putting them at risk of closure.
Last year was our first year of application-led Charity Partnerships, voted for by our staff. We received over 60 applications in 2 weeks, purely through word-of-mouth, and limited social networking.
Since the start of March, we have already received over 100 requests from charities asking about our Partnerships.
Our aim is to look at new ways of supporting our community – not just by donating, but by joining the dots between those in need and organisations that can offer help, and maximising the support we have to offer, through projects such as aDoddle.
Cate Battson, CSR Coordinator for Dutton Gregory Solicitors added:
“We believe aDoddle represents the highest level of community togetherness, and Dutton Gregory are proud to support such a fantastic enterprise, especially in such uncertain times. It has enabled us to help many more individuals and local organisations than previously possible.
We hope the BCP Community Map will offer support and guidance to our clients, staff and the wider community in the coming months.”
Jaki King, Founder of aDoddle and award-winning social enterprise If Everyone Cares CIC (IEC) commented:
"There are so many reasons why bringing this information together is both common sense and vital for people and communities. To make it work we not only need support from businesses like Dutton Gregory, but also from the charities and community organisations themselves. Our aim is for Community Maps to continually react to user, community and cross county need. We are connecting communities - one click at a time.”
